Wow!

Ranked down to 2.9, this was at 4.0 3 days before the competition ended.

Looks like the voting exploits have even affected other entries in negative ways.

A useful outcome

Great work - this concept could be applied to so many different areas for the public service - the possibilities are endless!

Just to add to Robs point.

We didn't want to make it based on commercial services like Banks, ATMS etc. (even though that data would be nice to have :)) rather services provided by the Government to assist the general public for example Medicare Offices, Legal Assistance etc.

Also we wanted to give the ability for a user to make a customisable list which could be reused for future reference. Which, correct me if I'm wrong, WhereIS doesn't currently do?

We had a few people test and that didn't come up as an issue, but it shouldn't be too hard to implement (famous last words!) as a future enhancement.

Thanks for the feedback. WhereiS is an excellent product, the difference is that fridgemate is driven by your location whereas WhereiS is driven by the location type. For example, you can't see police stations and schools on the same map in WhereiS. That said, it would be great if we had access to more information such as libraries.

Sorry, missed the question. No, there isn't currently a way to return more than one result because the idea is to remove the clutter - it's a bit of a balancing act though and more data would be good so a future enhancement would definitely be a way to page through locations while still retaining the simple UI.

That's a lot of organisations!! There are a couple of options - we can give you the code after the comp closes (although I will need to check all the licensing terms first) or we can find a way for you to add data directly depending on your own privacy obligations. Anyway, shoot me an e-mail on robert@creativepossums.net.

This is a very cool app- really useful and easy to use. Looks like it is sparking some other great ways to develop it.

I think you should be able to "drop" onto the map rather than underneath it. It took me >5 tries to figure that one out. It was far more natural for me to drag onto the map.
