The concept is that as you zoom the map, your view of the data changes to reveal other relationships between the data. It is intended as a bit of fun with the allusion to Alice in Wonderland and how deep rabbit holes go. It is also a bit of an experiment to see how to mashup a large number of datasets on a single map using novel visualization techniques rather than having to switch layers on and off.
